The UFO Finals buzz is growing, and we are very excited about the preparations being made for the event in Houston!
The 2009 UFO World Cup Finals will be taking place the weekend of Oct. 30-Nov 1 in Houston, Texas at Oak Meadow park in Bridgeland. The event is being hosted by the Houston Canine Frisbee disc Club. This is the final UFO event of the 2009 season, and when the grass clippings have settled, we will award the title of "World Cup Champion" to one of the teams. The UFO Standings are up-to-date, with all events so far included in the standings.
To help speed up our registration and to give us an idea of how much food we are bringing to the party, we have a pre-registration site where you can register your dogs for Friday’s UFO Major. If you are already qualified for the Finals (All-Star team, or already earned at least 85 World Cup points) and you plan to be at the finals, you can also confirm your attendance at this site. All teams are invited to a 'Texas-Style BBQ' on Saturday night courtesy of the club, the UFO, and Harpoon Brewery, who have generously donated some beverages for our get-together. Directions to this party are available ONLY at the field to competitors! Costumes are recommended (Halloween night, afterall!)??
Saturday's festivities at Oak Meadow Park include Bridgeland's "Howl-O-Ween" Fest. This all-day event is fun for every dog! The World Cup finals takes center stage, but there's lots of other activities for you and your dog:
? Dock Diving Fun Jump (practice jumps made from 10-2:30,competition begins at 3 PM)
? Costume Contest and Dog Parade at 1pm
? Fly Ball Performance
? Dancing Dog Performances at 12pm and 2pm
? Exhibitor Booths with Trick-or-Treating for Kids and Pups
? Food Concessions for Pets and People
