Indy Rocks!

With teams showing up from 7 states and even Canada, the Indy Disc Dog Classic pegged the meters at 11. Top talent was on hand to compete for World Cup points on Saturday, and bragging rights on Sunday.
The UFO Major on Saturday was a fireworks show, with a stupendous finish. The dogs were dealing with warm weather, and the handlers were dealing with the competition. The Open division saw World Champions Danny Eggleston and Guinan knock out a super freestyle routine. Keeping close were the Canadian team of Angela Ewtushik and her amazing dog Rally. The Throw & Catch round can make or break many teams, and reigning World Cup Champions Matt DiAno and Maggie used their 17.5 points to climb into contention.

Going into the final freestyle round, Danny & Guinan, Angela & Rally and Matt & Maggie were all neck and neck. The dogs came out strong, and in the end, Matt & Maggie were able to improve upon their first round of freestyle, taking the win by less than a point.

Sunday was the Indy Disc Dog Jam. Freestyle, Toss & Catch and Long Distance events were all contested by Novice, Intermediate and Pro teams. The wind picked up, making every event challenging, but the dogs, handlers and spectators all had a great time. Find results at www.d-dog.com.
