Torch and McIlveen Double Champs!

In what will go down as one of the most epic disc dog weekends ever, the UFO World Cup Championship and the AWI World Championship were both won by one amazing young woman-Kirby McIlveen and her unbelievable dog, Torch. The pair was untouchable all weekend, and one can only surmise that they are lucky to have a short ride home with all their hardware.
Superlatives never stopped coming after the 2 event weekend. The first time in history 2 Disc Dog Championships were held at the same location on the same weekend.
Friday\'s Major was the beginning of the fun. With teams from China, The Netherlands, Spain and Germany joining the Americans, the spectators were treated to lots of variety in dogs and style. Jeff Hill and Muse took home the Friday Major, and put his bid for the World Cup title into serious consideration.
Saturday was the AWI World Championship. No UFO connections on this day. But the event was heating up quick. At the end of it, Kirby and Torch became just the second team in history to have won Skyhoundz, UFO and AWI titles in their career. The AWI title was a long time coming, but Torch would not be denied. After a flawless final round of freestyle, Kirby\'s friends and fellow competitors flooded the field-they knew she had done it.
That left Sunday. No relaxing yet! The event was not a standard final format, as it had to be done in one day. So it was a UFO Major format. That meant every round was counting, no drops, no relief. Torch never veered or shied. He was on to the end. Andrew Han and Solar brought serious heat, taking the top score in Freestyle in both rounds. But a 10 in T&C kept them off that top spot on the podium. In third, Jeff Hill and Muse put up very good, very consistent numbers in every round.
The Freestyle Championship was Solar\'s reward for those Amazing freestyle rounds, making it Andrew and Solar\'s first UFO title.
On the T&C side, Tracy Custer and Courage put up an 18 in the first round, and never looked back. The team was on fire with 4 consecutive Bonus Zone catches. No misses all day, and the World Cup Throw & Catch Championship was theirs.
The 2015 World Cup Series has finished!!! Congratulations to our Winners:
World Cup Final Champion: Kirby Mcilveen and Torch
