Torch and Kirby win 3rd World Cup Championship!

2017 UFO World Cup Finals:
The exhaust plumes, rooster tails and contrails of the super-charged canine disc monsters have finally cleared...the incredible Colorado sun set on a field empty of dogs and people, but now steeped in lore, legend and memories...exhausted staff have finally been afforded a bit of extra sleep..It is finally finished.
The World Cup Championship came to a thrilling climactic finish Sunday afternoon. The best frisbee dogs in the world were on hand to put on an amazing show of aerial acrobatics and grass-burning speed spectacle.
The UFO is very proud to announce our 2017 World Cup Champions: TORCH & KIRBY MCILVEEN!!!!!
Torch and Kirby put up an amazing set of scores against a field of incredible talent. Their Saturday freestyle round --in the gusty wind-- might stand as one of the most incredible freestyle rounds of all time. Congratulations to this young lady and her absolutely phenomenal teammate, Tiki Torch!!
Kirby and Torch put up 2 awesome rounds of freestyle, and managed to win the World Cup Freestyle Championship, just edging out hard-charging Jeff Hill and Muse. Muse and Jeff were not about to give anything away, and had a nearly flawless final round on Sunday.
Jeff and Muse did not leave empty handed; through 4 rounds of T&C, their **lowest** score was 12 points!!! An absolutely incredible display of canine velocity and throwing accuracy!
The Throw and Catch World Cup title goes to Jeff Hill and MUSE!!
Finally, the UFO offered a championship for small dogs this year, the first time we have ever done it. As this was the inaugural event, The UFO is now thinking about how to improve this division, as it seems to have been very popular!
The small dogs did the same rounds, and the same format as the Overall Combined teams. And we are proud to announce our 2017 Inaugural Small Dog Champions, JEFF HILL & KEY!!
So Southern California takes home all the UFO glory for 2017, and did so with the grace and decorum of true champions.
The UFO would like to offer our bottomless, "could not do this without you" thanks to the hosting club, the Colorado Disc Dogs. They put up club resources, personnel, time, money and a very fine dose of disc dog hospitality. Truly a great event.

We hope to see as many of you as possible in the future, perhaps at the 2018 World Cup Finals in the Netherlands!!
